COMMUNITY FOODCARE & COVID-19
We need your help!
For 8 years Bay City Care's food initiative, Community FoodCare has been serving those in our Communities who are vulnerable and less fortunate. As a not-for-profit that is not Government funded, we survive on the generosity of others, not just financially but through Volunteers. The Covid-19 crisis has seen the need for services like FoodCare explode. With elderly, vulnerable and others unable to leave their homes or losing their jobs. People are also finding themselves unable to pay for bills such as phone and electric.
With Centrelink now flooded with people seeking assistance, and other service providers closing their doors for health reasons, we are needed now more than ever. We have commenced free Hamper deliveries and continue to run our shop on Tuesday's and Thursday's every week.
We are desperately seeking further funding to allow us to continue operating, and expand further out to wider communities to do what we can to assist those who need it most. With more funding we can increase the amount of food and items offered as well as the number of delivery drivers to allow us to reach more people and increase the frequency of deliveries. All money raised goes directly to purchasing food and other necessary items and deliveries.
